Community Capital

The social and economic shape of the Maranoa-Balonne and Border Rivers has changed since the Regional NRM Plan was first released in 2004, impacting on its environmental foundations. There has been a significant increase in peri-urban development and an extension of the extractive and resource industries. Despite these changes, the region’s broad social, economic and cultural assets remain.
